ZWEIGBRECHER

For artist Olav Westphalen, this machine was created as part of a performative installation. After a branch or twig is clamped in place, the machine is activated and triggers the break at a random, unpredictable moment. The resulting sound is captured by a microphone and amplified throughout the exhibition space, making the moment of breaking the central event of the work.
